Push/Pull or Upper/Lower?

My husband does push/pull exercises, and I basically just look at strength training as upper or lower body routines. Is there a "best practice" out there right now, or is there a difference for men and women?

I think it depends on what part of your body you want to work on. My understanding is that you are supposed to do cardio as well as resistance. It might be easier to do the reps alternating so that although you do your sets, you are not doing them one after the other.0
