I have Izumi's. They're minimalist light weight running shoes, a friend who owns a running store gave them to me, so not sure how much they cost. This is my 2nd (donated! Yes my friend is awesome!) pair and I love them

I am not sure what brands you have in the UK but I LOVE Asics. I used to wear Nike and New Balances but once I tried Asics I will NEVER go back!

My shoes are really old, but I love them: http://www.runnersworld.com/running-shoe-reviews/training-shoe-avia-avi-lite

I'm afraid I'm no help, but wanted to follow along in case I see something similar posted :)

I wear vibram five fingers and love them, like wearing nothing at all

Lots of shops now have a machine that films you running on a treadmill and they play back the video and then decide where you press the most on your feet. They then sell you the appropriate shoe.

Although this may not be the cheapest - they have a 13 day exchange scheme where you can try them and bring back it they are no good.

Also, you could go and have the test done and then source the shoes yourself on the internet.

Ah thanks for the suggestions everyone i'm going to have a look now at them all and decide.

As for the shops suggesting the best shoes for me, i'm not sure if they do that here or what shop it'd be but it sounds like something i'd quite like so i'll look it up. :)

    Again thanks everyone :)
