Huge compliment received

Last night, when I was at the salon feeling on the verge of crying about my rapidly greying hair, I received the most wonderful complement in the form of a question. A stylist/photographer asked me if I would consider doing some print ads for her... What?!? Me? I wanted to be sure she had the right person! I still am not skinny, by any means, but I suppose that means that I'm finally into what I consider to be a more acceptable weight range that looks good on my frame. I'm 6'0" tall so people frequently ask what team I played basketball for or if I was an athlete, but never has anyone confused me for a model. I'm trying to get in great shape for my 30th birthday this summer, so maybe professional photos will be a gift to myself.

Yay me!

Congratulations!! I have to agree with all before - not surprising, but still fabulous!

And I'm eating and watching Sarah Jessica Parker on NBC - she's got obvious greys in front! I decided that if she, with all her professional stylists, has greys, so can we! :flowerforyou:

I agee. I decided six months ago it's time to embrace the gray. My husband is actually liking the gray streaks, and I feel very empowered for not giving in to the pressure to hide the gray. The only person I want to impress anyway is my husband, so it looks like I've accomplished that.

I've been going grey since I was 16... so after 13 years you can imagine what it looks like! Sometimes I let it go, and it's great for building confidence, but where I live and what I do for work makes it difficult to build a client base! I've already warned the hairdresser though: as soon as I get a nice solid patch at the front that has none of my natural color in it, I want a thick grey streak that doesn't get dyed with the rest of it. I think that is so attractive.

And thank you again to everyone!!!

I have a natural grey streak right at the front - luckily i am fair anyway so it doesnt stand out that much but i have stopped dying my hair and gone back to my natural mousy brown. and have had so many compliements since
