I am slightly confused with my food diary. It seems that even if i am under with calories my sugar goes over and into red! I really need to know if this matters! I had a banana for breakfast yesterday and it pretty much took all my sugar intake just in that!

I thought fruit was good for you, but now i am not so sure. Need some help please!

Fruit is good for you. It just happens to be fairly high in sugar. Unless you're diabetic or hypoglycemic, I wouldn't really worry about it.

Thanks! I've noticed though that all my meals no matter how healthy have sugar in them and i am always over! Do you think this matters?
  • I would only be concerned about refined sugar.
However if you are in weight loss mode and stall I would eat lower calorie fruits for a while.

As long as the sugars are coming from fruit and vegetables you will still loose weight. Unless you suffer from the previous conditions mentioned. You do not want to consume processed sugars. White or brown sugars, sodas, candies. That type of thing. If you are sticking to a healthy diet, then I wouldn't worry about it. My sugar goes over almost every day especially if I have three pieces of fruit. P.S. Banana's are the highest (from my experience), switch to apples maybe?

@ Peggy: What are some lower sugared fruits?

I stopped tracking sugar bc of the sugar in fruits and such. The body metabolizes sugar from fruits slower than what you would get from simple carbs like Sodas or candy... It's the simple stuff you want to stay away from or limit if you can.
