Shin Splints

When I was running before, I got them but it never hindered my ability to run. Last night I did a walk/run with my dogs and they hurt so bad I couldn't finish my work out I just walked the rest of the way home. This morning I just walked the dogs and they still hurt. Should I stop, keep going, or could it possibly be something else? Just confused. Like I said it's never been this bad before.

You can get compression sleeves for your legs, i've been told the help, but rest is really the only thing you can do.0

I had this issues, shin splint turned out to be stress fractures in m shins..
Try these tips, if still in pain go see your dr.
Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevate.
Rest 48 hours, Ice 20 minutes off and on during 48 hours, Compression sleeves on calves, Keep legs up.0 -
i got over my shin splints last year simply by running until the pain started then stopping...
i used to run a little further every other day until i was running 4 miles...
then BANG knee injury, i think i pushed it a little too hard doing hill runs etc....
i am back doing the same thing again i am sure it will work.
i was always told never to push through shin splints0 -

As per my daughter, who is an athletic trainer, roll a frozen water bottle on your shins. LIke was mentioned, it's stress fractures.0
