An end to yo-yo dieting?

Hello, I am a 'Yo-yo' dieter, I diet until i am at my goal size and then stop. Completely. Does anybody else do this?
I relly want to stop this, each time I do it I end up getting bigger and bigger! I feel like i'm takeing one step forward and two steps back!
I find that the thing that motivates me the most is events, for example; Valentines Day, Holiday, Wedding.
What I want to do this time, unlike the other times is aim for one event, and THEN aim for another instead of stopping dead when I am at the size i want to be.
I have a pair of skinny Levi Jeans that, when I can fit into them, are gorgeous. As a treat for myself I have bought a pair of Diesel boots that will look amazing with them. I am not going to wear the boots until I can get in my jeans.
I have three goals to aim for so far, Valentines day being the first.
