Hi there! I'm new to this, I've never really bothered trying to lose weight *with* people, and I think that a community of people in the same boat would be beyond beneficial I've decided that this time, I'm going to do it. In 7 months, I'd like to be able to rock up to my sisters wedding in a dress, feeling confident and comfortable in my own skin and looking gorgeous!
I don't really know how to get there. Any tips/rules for me to follow? How about work-outs, where do I begin there? Anybody come across any great diet plans? I don't eat meat and I don't think I'm comfortable joining a gym as I'm painfully shy, but I love walking on the beach and surf a lot.

Just be consistent and honest with your logging. It might take a few weeks to get into a routine. Drink a lot of water. Don't drink your calories. Make good choices. Losing weight is not about giving up your favorite foods or being hungry. It's about learning to make better choices to keep you satisfied while learning to live with your favorite food in moderation. After all, this is a lifestyle you want to live with after you reach your goal weight.
