Taking in less calories than I should. . ?

I just joined this website, and according to it, I should be taking in roughly 2,000 calories a day.
However, even before I started "dieting," I never took in that many.
On an average day, it's usually around 1,500.
Is this bad, and could it be a reason that I haven't lost weight, because I'm actually eating too little ?

Find your BMR, multiply it by sedentary (x1.2) (I'm assuming this is your activity level also btw), add calories from exercise via HRM. Take that number, subtract 500 calories to lose 1lb/wk OR subtract 1,000 calories to lose 2lb/wk.
Post your height/weight and I'll do it for you.0
