I know the basics of what is good for you and what is not, but everyday I go way over on my protein as to what mfp says I should be having. I am also a bit under on my carbs. I was always under the impression that it was good to have more protein. I don't eat any red meat (mainly chicken, eggs and fish). Any insights? Should I be eating more carbs and less protein?

Don't worry about it, MFP sets the protein levels low.0

Over on protein is good as long as you're getting enough if other nutrients and you're working your muscles.0

I hope not because I'm over on my protein every day! Usually by 40-50 grams, I've always heard though, if you're going to go over on something, best that it's protein.0 -

For info about your macros (proteins/fats/carbs) - check out this link. It will give you the formula to figure out your #s and also how to custom change them in MFP:

It actually can be bad for you to get too much. It can cause stress on your organs. The question is in knowing what is too much. I don't think going over your mfp protein goals is going to hurt you.

Also, I know everybody tells you to cut out the carbs, but not getting enough carbs can also cause some pretty bad side effects. Once again, it's just about knowing how much is too little.

Do some research. Google is your friend.0
