Smoothie and Juicing

I usually do a lot of smoothies with fruits and veggies. Is this better for your body than actually eating them? Do you tend to lose more weight this way? I see a lot of ppl on the smoothie and juicing kicks so I'm really curious. I prefer doing smooties myself quick and easy but your body wouldn't be breaking it down cause its already broken???
