I'm one of those people that is so busy I never remember to eat at proper times. This is great in the morning because it literally takes 2 minutes to throw together.

Throw into the blender (I use a magic bullet):

1 peeled ripe mango
1/4 cup apple juice

This is so awesome. I pretty much make this with any kind of fruit and either apple/orange juice depending on the type, but mango/apple is my favorite. I try to be frugal especially in today's economy, and where I shop this usually only costs between $1.50-2.50 (CDN) to make. Not that different from the cost of a morning coffee, and full of tons more energy packed nutrients.

In the summer I throw in some ice. Yum.

ACK. :noway: I hope your controlling your calories. A breakfast like that spells disaster throughout the day-

Where is the proteinz and good carbs. I mean- this is the one meal you can practically eat ANYTHING you want to jumpstart your day.

    OOO-

    I eat my

    EGG WHITEZ
    MY BACONZ
    MY ENGLISH MUFFINZ
    MY COFFEEEZ

MAYBE EVEN THROW IN A FLAP JACK EVERY NOW AND AGAIN!!!!

    YOU CRAZY!!!

  • That seems like kind of a harsh judgmental reply. I know I'm just starting on here and have a lot of weight to lose, but I've started having a fruit smoothie for breakfast, too. Fruit is great for you, and there's no better time to eat carbs than at breakfast, when you're most likely to burn them off... and as far as "where are the good carbs"... fruit is the best kind of carb, waaaaay better than grains and starches any day. Fruit has a lot more nutrients and won't mess with your blood sugar a fraction as much as starch. I feel far better with a smoothie for breakfast than I ever did with my old cereal and milk breakfast.

Also... looks like you're an athlete, so maybe you do need more protein... but not everyone is an athlete.

I don't agree w/ the first response in that that breakfast "spells disaster." However, it does seem very low calorie and high sugar, which can lead to hunger/overeating.

I'd suggest adding some plain yogurt to that drink to give it more calories and protein.

Hold your horses and back up the truck.

you must have read my reply out of context, as I did not mean it in the way you read it.

I was only saying to be careful. I've met many people who refused to eat a proper breakfast. Hell if it works for you, then by all means! But history does tend to repeat itself. Didn't mean any harm. I'm here to educate, not hate.

Fruits are GREAT. Yes I am an athlete, but I'm a long time dietician. Only saying to be heads up. Fruits are chalked full of a lot of goodness, but why not eat MORE with your drink? Thats all-

    NO hard feelings. Good Luck!!!!!

I think your heart was good and your words came out wrong. Everyones eating is different, but your thinking is sound. I am a former soldier (and a PT warrior) but my eating is now way diff than when I was in the army. Always choice your words carefully. We are to be here for eachother, not discourage one another, But I know your heart was in the rigth place, soldier.

Woah, ladies! Gentlemen! Just sharing a tip for a great breakfast 'beverage'. That's why I threw the word 'beverage' in there instead of 'Easy, quick breakfast'! On days that I work I usually also have a serving and a half of plain yogurt as well and usually my breakfast totals 200-300 calories. On days that I have a bit more time, I have one of these smoothies first thing in the morning and then usually eggs, toast & whatnot around 10 (instead of the yogurt) which totals 300-400 calories. So thanks for your concern but I am good!

Having been someone who NEVER ate breakfast before, I think this is fantastic :)

Thanks again for opinions, but I didn't even kind of say this was the only thing I ate. Just part of it! :)
