Patience, patience, patience

I don't have any. Patience is just not one of my virtues. The hardest part of all this for me is wanting to see the results right away. How does everyone deal with waiting to see the hard work pay off?

  • It's the little things that really "wake us" up and remind us that despite the fact that we arent getting quick results, we're accomplishing and noticing small things. I'd make a list and title it, "Nonscale victories" small victories that aren't scale related and it could range anything from being able to fit into an old pair of jeans, running to the gym as opposed to driving there, wearing a belt you never wore before. Every Sunday, I reflect on my week's nonscale victories and trust me, it'll get easier. Other people usually notice the difference in our appearances before we actually do but patience is a virtue. Practice patience and gratitude. :) Stay strong. Stay fabulous. Stay fierce!

My best motivation actually comes from the waiting - when I first started working out, I took pictures of myself, and then each moth, I took pictures. It was cool to see the gradual transformation - the progress was slow, but keeping track of it made a whole bunch of difference. You can see the befores and afters in my profile, but its the inbetweens that I like the most - the gradual shift.

Keeping track of things always helps me - picking up 5 more pounds this time then you did before- running for a couple of minutes longer or for a lamp post further than before. All of these things add up!

    Best of luck!

Honestly - learn to have patience.

This isn't a race. Changing not just your body but your mentality and lifestyle takes time. Creating new and good habits take time. Change in general takes time.

Commit yourself to your goals, be aware of your choices, find your own motivation, and learn to be patient with things, including yourself.
