Hi everyone I'm new to MFP and i am having trouble with losing weight i don't know where and how to start . NEED help ASAP any suggestion would be greatly appreciated ...

I carried on with my normal lifestyle and put everything I eat into my plan and that made me realise where I was seriously going wrong. It opened my eyes to a lot and I was quite shocked.
You can do a general search on the database and just make sure you have small portions of a varied diet!

i did something similar. I ate "normal" for a day then inputed all the calories at the end of it to see where I really was... i gotta tell you i was shocked! I had no idea that I could eat that many calories in one sitting let alone in one day!! Log everything you eat. Be honest about it... and move your body! You can do this!0

I agree, & I also think its really important to be HONEST with your food diary. Thing is we are all here for the same reason, if your not honest on your diary, your only cheating yourself - you don't have to share your diary if you don't want to, its all in the settings. At least you can see where you're going wrong, and work towards changing it. I find the water intake is really important & probably the one I struggle with the most! I also find the status updates help me, bit like FB lol - I was in Coles the other day on my way home from work & I tell ya, I so could have bought a large block of chocolate (had a ****ty day at work) but I straight away updated my status which pretty much talked myself out of buying it!! I was so proud of myself it kept me going for the next day! I also find giving yourself daily or weekly motivational sayings helps... mine for this week is "Nothing tastes as good as slim feels!" - GOOD LUCK ! you got this :happy:0
