Food Complaints?

Anyone have complaints about food smells at work? Especially hard boiled eggs or tuna salad?

How do you handle it?

We even have a no popcorn rule because the smell is so over powering.

I dont eat tuna or eggs at my desk for that reason - the smell. I'll eat them in the lunchroom. If anyone complains, they can leave the lunchroom but people cant really leave their desks while I eat [I work in a call center]. I would LOVE a no-popcorn rule. I hate the smell of microwaved popcorn.

The co-worker who sits next to me actually hates the smell of eggs - it makes him sick, so out of respect for my co-worker I'll eat them elsewhere.

We basically have a kitchenette against one corner of a wall with cubicle wall around it. So the smells travel everywhere!

Glad I am only part-time but wonder what others do if they have to deal with this everyday.

Well...not really in mine. Because I am there for like 12 hours straight. If I pop popcorn though, I usually use the other microwave that is in the other room so that I don't annoy my coworker. I don't like tuna, so I don't have to worry about that problem lol.
  • when the canteen is cooking fish and chips and it travels into the office. Makes me want to heave. On a positive note, when they cooked Christmas dinner it smelt sooooo gooood.

How about the goof that decides to eat microwave popcorn, then proceeds to burn the snot out of it. THAT'S a smell no one can get away from! UGH!

If there's a kitchen area, then yup there's going to be food smells. Food cooked at work then taken to another area, that's something that should be talked about in a democratic way, if not then it's a free for all.
