Men 6" and over -- need on the go lunch ideas

Hi!

My ongoing fitness is finally rubbing off on the hubby!!!  So he finally started asking me questions about ideas for breakfast and such. Breakfast I have covered because I can help whip something up for him before I leave for work or teach him how to prepare something at home. For dinner, I cook and we usually eat a healthy meal aside from the occasional take out on the weekend.

My problem is lunch. I personally eat a salad with chicken or a lean cuisine with fruit and salad, etc. I work in an office so keeping food in our breakroom is convenient and I have time to get up and heat it up. My husband is a radio producer and is on his feet for 7 straight hours and is very busy and rarely has time to leave for lunch...or heat it up for that matter.

My question is for the guys....what do you eat for lunch and what are some quick meals I can help prepare for him? I don't want to suggest a lean cuisine bc I know for a big guy like him...it won't have sufficient calories. Oh! and salad is out...he hates lettuce, but will eat cooked broccoli and red peppers, etc.

Anything you eat is just fine, usually just in bigger portion sizes due to his increased size.

Tuna salad sandwiches, deli meat sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, fruit, veggies & dip, fruit, cooked chicken breast cooled and sliced... my husband works shifts and takes all kinds of things. Supplement with protein bars and/or shakes if he wants increased protein.

I had to laugh at the puncuation too? Really? My other thought is that tall does not give a true aspect of size, weight is far more important to calories burned and nutritional needs.

Sadly, I am under-qualified to respond.

Perhaps pick him up a six pack bag to keep things chilled?

Yeah my husband is a big guy and refuses to weigh himself. He's 6'2" and two years ago he weight 283 lbs.

I have the same issue. My Fiance is a heavy duty truck mechanic and usually gets tied up and doesn't have time to heat up lunches.... I did a bunch of research online and found this website.....

It has been the single best website I have ever found. My Fiance loves his lunches now and I quite enjoy the variety too.

    Hope it helps!

Just made the cut! Now if I lose another 30 lbs and gain an inch, I'm solid in this group.

I usually just bring leftovers from the night before or visit the excellent (yet pricey) salad bar in the cafeteria here at work.

This site is awesome! I love all of the pictures.... Thanks for sharing. It's tough finding things for him to eat because he was mostly raised as a meat and potatoes kinda guy. Recently he's been expanding his palate so it's been kind of hard finding healthy foods he'll like.

You're more than welcome. I'm not sure if you have a Walmart near you (or Target?) but they sell these red Rubbermaid containers and they have 3 compartments in them for seperating the food. They have been the best!!
