Spartan run, any suggestions for those who have done it?

I am doing an 8 mile Spartan Run in July. My training plan is this:
2 days a week- circuit training, mostly strength training, some cardio mixed in
2 to 3 days a week run - varying distances like training for a longer race (short, med, and long run, running 8 miles 1 time a week end of June)
1 day a week (starting in June) a longer run (6 miles maybe), stopping every 1/2 mile or so to do another exercise like squats, push ups, lunges, etc to simulate the obstacles.
Any thought?
