How many of you have done this lifting? I was doing leg presses yesterday morning and in my first set, felt a pop in my lower right rib cage, and had a sharp pain. I was able to keep going, it was just pretty sore and continues to be so, especially if I'm laying on that side, up on my elbow on that side, etc.

Its been longer than 20 years since I had any issues with any of this, and was just wondering how common it is, etc.? Also, if I remember correctly, there isn't really much at all that can be done, so its okay to just keep pushing along and let it heal up on its own....no further damage should be done by continuing my exercise and lifting regimine as long as I'm able, correct?

While I've never had tis particular injury, sharp pain is always a sign to stop what you're doing. I'd be very cautious in continuing your workouts until you figure out exactly what's happened.

It was only a sharp pain at the first "pop". Since then, its just been sore. Pretty sure this is all it is. Tomorrow morning is my upper body day, so if it inhibits me at all then, I will be going to the doc to have him look at it. No sharp pains now, just sore (almost muscle-like) when I stretch or twist in a certain way.

Not too worried about it, just annoyed more or less for now.
