Completely changing your diet while pregnant can be very hard. I personally have issues with a lot of green veggies right now, cooked, raw, steamed, grated, you name it. Watch your caloric intake (most people should be around maintenance), exercise moderately within any restrictions your doctor has given you. Unless you are very morbidly obese, actively trying to lose weight during pregnancy is generally not advised.

There is a very supportive pregnancy group on here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/1920-fit-fabulous-pregnant-

It's normal to gain weight while you're pregnant...if you don't gain a pound between now and your next visit, my guess is that your doctor will be very upset with you. You do not want to lose weight during pregnancy. Obviously you don't want to gain too much and your doc should have a number for you (i.e. gain xxx Lbs in a week/month/overall. Remember that you are also eating for two now...your baby comes before you, your vanity, etc.

    Uh, not entirely true.

8lbs in a month is excessive. 8x9=72. That's a lot of weight. Most women are advised to stick to the 20-40lb range.

OP - you need to speak to your doctor about an appropriate calorie goal. If you are severely overweight, your doctor may advise for you to not gain much weight at all. If you aren't, he/she will help determine a good weight goal for you.

    Good luck on your pregnancy.
