Back away from the computer!!!!

Is anyone else finding that they're spending too much time online? (Specifically, on MFP)? MFP has been so helpful to me - almost too helpful! I'm constantly combing threads for more info, tips, inspiration, etc. It gives me major motivation to work out - maybe too much?!? My sig. other pointed out that I seem to be becoming "addicted" to exercise. The word "obsessed" was used. (And that's without knowing how much time I spend on MFP).
In the spirit of keeping balance - here's my challenge for the week:
a)Only 1 hour of non-work related computer usage a day (so Facebook, email and MFP will all have to fit into that hour)
b) Wear shoes and socks while surfing these sites, so that when the hour is up, I'm all ready to get up and participate in my life (other than working out).
Anyone else feeling like I do, I'd love to hear from you - and would encourage you to join me in this challenge.

LOLOLO I Am TOTALLY there with you... MFP is ALWAYS open on my laptop, and I am on here more then I am on FB or twitter.. and that is A LOT!!!:ohwell:
Good Luck with your challenge for the week!! I know for sure I will not be able to limit my activities to under an hr. Not this week at least!

I am right there with you (except for the obsessive about exercise part). I gave up FB totally for lent and am making sure I don't stay on MFP for more than 15 minutes. It's like with food--too much of anything is not good for you.0

Oh girl, I am with you! I'm up for the challenge too - although mine will be only 1 hour per night when I'm home. I have A LOT of down time at my job and skimming MFP at work passes the time. Basically all I have to entertain myself is the internet and most of the other entertainment sites (like Facebook) are blocked. My husband mans the remote every night so I just sit on the couch with my laptop hopping back and forth between Facebook and MFP. It's so pathetic. :frown:. So, evenings this week I am only going to spend 1 hour at most on this dang laptop! Maybe I'll actually get a few things done around the house.0

What a relief to see I'm not alone! Honestly, I am so glad to see I've got good company. The bad thing is - I'm BACK online again. :blushing: This may end up being more difficult than I thought.
As for me being "obsessed" with exercise - I honestly don't think I am . I think it's perfectly normal and healthy to dedicate about an hour a day to physical activity... isn't it? Am i kidding myself?
I guess, to be fair, it must be weird for someone to see me go from a complete couch potato to someone who makes it important be active. In January, I had a goal of doing some kind of exercise every day of the month (even if it was just a short walk). I was proud of myself and reporting my progress - and that's when I got labeled an "addict". Hmmmmm...
Okay, my MFP website diet starts.... TOMORROW. :laugh: (Have we heard THAT before?)0
