I'm going to start stronglifts tmrw. I can easily do all of A and B with more than the bar. Im not a newbie to proper form. Should I start with the bar anyway? I feel like it's a waste of time. Opinions?

Medhi swears that you should start with the bar....
Personally, I think as long as you're adding weight each and every time you lift then it doesn't really matter.

Strong-lifts is intended for beginners and the first weeks for neural adaptation as well as building on form... If you have both you can start loading a bit. But do what will induce you to stick with it.

As I had done squats in the past I started at a level much higher than I am at now. And then I decided to dial it back down and relearn proper form - real proper, lower shoulder squeeze, posterior chain driven squats a la "starting strength".

In the long term a few weeks don't matter.

If you have already been lifting, start with 3 weeks worth of progress under your 5rms

If you sign up for stronglifts at the site, he will send you a spreadsheet where you can put your current numbers in and it will calculate where you should start. However, it is pretty strict so if you are just doing say 20 pounds or so over the bar then you will be instructed to start at the bar. Let me look at the spreadsheet real quick and insert some numbers....
Ah. If I put in 100 pounds for all the lifts, with 5 reps, then it tells me I can start at 50 pounds. (except for the deadlift and row, which need weight on the bar to make the exercises possible.)
Starting with the bar is to make sure that you have proper technique and do not injure yourself. I do recommend signing up, as he sends you some interesting emails, links to videos etc. There is no charge to do so. Here is the link:
