Hi everyone

My name is Tammy and I am trying hard to lose some weight, well not some, alot of weight. I was wondering how does evveryone deal with the "sweet tooth"? I love all the C's, cookies, candy, cake, ice Cream. I am also a emotional and bored eater. I guess just looking for some friends and suggestions.

Thank you and hope your having a good day.

Tammy

I can relate to this problem... I have such a sweet tooth that I actually have a tattoo of a cupcake inside my lower lip... I have found to satisfy my sweet tooth rice cakes with peanut butter, caramel or apple cinnamon with whipped peanut butter... great source of protein also. I have always been someone who has to eat something sweet after a meal to consider myself done eating.

I like them too but I am not an every day consumer of the C's because there are so many other great things to snack on. But you know what, when I first started my new lifestyle I have to say it wasn't by choice. My body was acting weird and I was gettign sick. I guess the most I've ever weighed in my life was starting to be my worst enemy and react. So I had to do something to better my life and my health.

So instead of having the things I used to love all the time that used to add to my then 227 pounds, I stopped having them. For my sfirst month, I gave up rice, pasta, bread, meat and coffee and I used to love them all eating them almost everyday. I'm Haitian and us Haitian people have rice for dinner almost every day. So even now when my mom coolks it, I take everything else but rice, even though I love it.

I am not the best at this as I am struggling to maintain and to follow the right path to lead to my victories, and it is not easy. Don;t give up though. If you want it, go after it. Lessen your sweet intake. If you used to eat ice cream every day, how about switching to frozen yogurt or sherbert? Maybe you loved to have cookies, but the supermarkets now have a lot of gluten free cookies that are way less in calories because they do not contain wheat or eggs. Maybe when you are craving candy bars or candy, you can go for sugar free or a granola bar that might actually satisfy the sweet tooth because it can have the same amoutn of chocolate or whatever it is that you like, but in a healthier format.

Regardless of how you are able to hook what you want, do it because that is what you want to do and you know what, it will last. I can say that for me, 48 pounds later. I started my new lifestyle on August 1. I am still learnign and striving and sometimes I crave things like Popeyes or a burger. I had the Popeyes once since August. The burger, I have not yet but you know what, I will eventually because after five months of hard work and not having it, once in a while is not so bad.

I think that is the same way sweets should be factored in. Hope that helps.
