"Anyone can get those if they work at it. It's just a lot of exercising. And it's really quite pointless, because you go to a gym and you lift a heavy thing so a muscle grows, but the only thing the muscle can actually do is to lift that heavy thing.

After a while they're like pets because they don't do anything useful. But you have to feed them and take care of them otherwise they'll go away. I feel a bit goofy having them, to tell you the truth."

    I was sitting out front- at the al fresco tables--at the Pick Me Up cafe-eating bruchetta and working on my novel-- when Ryan Gosling swags by---and looks back to make sure we were all looking at him, looking at us, looking at him, and then we were looking at him, looking at us, looking at him. :noway: It was kind of comical. On Avenue A -he looked like any run of the mill cute guy. He kind of blended in. There's a million of them--down there--many of them--ten times cuter.

    But this was Ryan Gosling,

    First people looked at each other--kind of stupidly---
    Was that--HIM they asked? Even in different languages ---was that HIM?

    & then people abruptly left their tables---their cell phones, their lap dogs, the journals their lattes and simply started discreetly following him. Really

    Everybody. --even the straight guys.

    I couldn't believe my eyes.

    It was like ---The Sexy Pied Piper of the East Village :smokin:
