There are always alot of discussions on here about the BMR & TDEE and how to figure them and what sites to use.
With that being said how does a person know which website is accurate when it comes to the numbers ?

You get different numbers from each, for example. 1 website has me eating 2136 calories to lose weight, another has me at
1920 or even 1784 calories and even gives me a zig zag approach. How do I know which website is correct and which do i go by?

Alot of people follow the "Eat more to lose weight" buy increasing calories etc. too many websites giving different numbers
in my opinion. Everyone wants to try different things but ends up not knowing which approach to take when the numbers
are all over the place.

Feedback on this ?

I use If It Fits In Your Macros website as instead of you guessin if your are lightly active, moderately active ect. It has you enter the number of mins you sleep, stand/walk, sit and watch tv. So I think it knows your activity level better than some sites.

Most calculators I've seen have my BMR pretty much within a few calories. In RE to TDEE it really depends on how they calculate activity...do they include exercise or not, etc. Also different plans approach weight loss differently. MFP assumes no exercise in their calculation of TDEE and exercise is extra that needs to be added back and then eaten due to the deficit being built into the goal...others give you a number and you get your deficit by eating under that that number, exercising, etc. Just find an approach and stick with that one.

In RE to eating more to lose, this isn't what a lot of people think it is. This largely applies to people with very restrictive calorie deficits which are unnecessary and often unhealthy...for example, someone on 1,200 who has plateaued (often due to metabolic stall) is often recommended to increase their calorie intake. This new caloric goal is still a deficit of their maintenance TDEE, it's just a smaller, more reasonable, and safer deficit.

So in all truth, is is better to just stick with the number MFP throws out or use other websites to calculate it for you ?

I remember using this site when i 1st joined MFP 2 yrs ago and the numbers there are also really high in calories that it
    would have me eating.
