Ok so I set my calories to 1200 a day after logging my exercise for the day I get pretty close to 1000 extra calories but am only eating about 1300 for the whole day which leaves me with an extra 700 or so I don't eat them as am full and feel that that is why am exercising in the first place, am I doing this wrong or is ok to have that many calories left over?

    NO.

If you tell MFP you want to lose two pounds a week, they build in the calorie deficit needed to lose that weight - essentially if you NET 1200 calories a day, science says you'll lose two pounds a week. If you exercise, you need to eat more to make up for those burned calories, bringing your net total back to 1200. You can't survive on a net 300 calories a day.

Also, you seem new here, so search for "eat more to weight less", because you probably should net more than 1200 a day every day anyway.

    NO.

^^ this, your pretty much setting yourself up for an epic failure at that rate. try setting to 1lbs per week or even .5.

1000 extra calorie buns? Might I ask what you are doing? If I burn 1000 calories and only netted 300, I'd be so dizzy and passed out on the road.

The calorie deficit is already planned in....and really there are few times when eating less than 1200 is really okay - it is the least that a person usually needs in order to run just regular body functions w/o exercise.

I've found that if I have more than 200 calories left over for more than a day or two a week I stop losing. I try really, really hard to never eat less than 1200. I try for a range of 1200 to 1300 a day....I'm not currently working out - but when I start training for my mini marathon I will still try to keep around the same deficit.

    Good Luck to you

Thanks for your replies I thought that I might be doing something wrong with the eating

exercise wise I walk alot not only at home but at work as well also some work out dvds, I really don't have spare moment on some days so am very active then i get home from work and work out some more i do those walk at home dvds which one would think would not burn a lot of calories but it gets me sweating pretty good

i am going to change some of my settings thanks for all your help

So my net calories need to be 1200 right? I guess I need to get to eating I have been netting about 400 to 600 that could explain a lot of things
