Hello everyone!
I understand I need to eat the required cal than work them off......but if i am required to have 1200 cal a day and I gain 200-300 cals by exercise do I bank that or do I now eat 14001500 cals? I am just not sure if I intake 200-300 cals les than required if that will slow down the process rather than help it
I appreciate any advice you have......thanks!

I don't eat the cals I burn off with exercise. When you're in a deficit, your body will adjust its metabolism to make up for a lot of the calories that you burn during exercise by skimping on other metabolic functions (usually bodyheat). So just stick with 1200.0 -
that's really helpful, thank you!!...that has really had me baffled for a while now0

Um, no. you SHOULD be eating your exercise calories back!!! When you put your info into MFP to give you your daily calorie allottment, it already accounted for a calorie deficit to obtain however much you want to lose a week. Therefore, when it adds your exercise calories back, it still has your caloric deficit built in.
There are a million threads on this subject, and while you will encounter the occasional person who says otherwise, the overwhelming majority say to eat at least some (if not all) your calories back… especially if you're only taking in 1200 (the minimum MFP sets) to begin with.
Did you know, your brain alone needs nearly 500 calories a day to maintain function? Now imagine the rest of your bodily functions and systems. Fuel yourself properly!!!0 -
I will give a different take. 1200 is already giving you a deficit to achieve weight loss with nutrition alone. When you exercise and burn the calories, that will create a larger deficit which can lead to being hungry all the time, not having energy...yada yada yada. Eat back some--it doesn't have to be all--healthy calories, not junk, so that it will fuel the body.0

^This. And you shouldn't be consuming less than 1200/day. So you should be eating them.0
