I found I have the same problems at times. I have to find ways to distract myself. After awhile your body becomes used to less food. Drink water, go for a walk, watch tv (skip past commercials cause then you see food). Do whatever you need to do to forget about food.

Maybe what you need to do is think smaller. Instead of a big mac, get a cheeseburger? I have burger cravings and I pick up some 97% lean beef at the store with some 100 cal thin buns, and 2% cheese slices and make my own.

Don't fight food too much, master it. :)

Oh, and exercise more! That's what I've been doing this year 1hr of workout each day, first thing, no excuses.

    Cheers!
  • I have been on the MFP for 9 months and still think about food all the time. I usually am planning my day of food and at night, thinking about b'fast!!! I am not sure if this ever ends. I weigh myself every morning - this keeps me from binging as I don't want to see a higher number!!!

I used to drink wine every night and gave this up (only once in a while do I have a glass of wine and oh the buzzzzzz)!!! It took 3 months to stop thinking about a glass of wine at the usual time. However, this finally stopped. Wonder if thinking about food will stop. I do look forward to an event where I will let myself have a glass of wine. Maybe that is the problem with food, you can't just stop, you have to eat.

I absolutely have that problem when I log too. It got so bad, I had to stop logging. I have been at this for a while so I have a pretty good idea about portion sizes and healthy options now, so basically I decide what I am going to eat for the day and THEN log it. If its over in cals, I take something out or work out to make up for the calories. I have found that deciding what I am going to eat before logging it in has helped considerably. Good luck to you!
