Do you really carry most of your weight in your stomach?

... I'm not sure if a majority of these claims are true. Yes, it may be the most obvious part of you, but is that an excuse people tell themselves and others? Stubborn belly fat is very common, but the "let's get healthy" challenge at work has almost done the reverse motivation wise for me. Some people are choosing to quit smoking, some to lose weight, and others BOTH! A little excess around the abdomen would be acceptable I suppose. I think why everyone thinks I am heavier because of my midsection. I wear size smalls, 34 jeans, and have some striations and muscle definition... and a 36" waist. I think BF calculators put me at 23.25% ... it's a little discouraging being perceived as heavy still when you're really not.

Everyone at work thinks I'm around 200 lbs and even an old co-worker put me at 190... I weighed myself last week at 174 and it feels like no one sees me as that weight... I'm 5"10.5 and more and more other guy co-workers who are a lot leaner than I am mention that they weigh more than me. I know that some of them have more muscle on their body than me, but others I know don't... This must mean by deductive reasoning I have very low lean body mass... and a lot of body fat in comparison. I think it's rare for someone to be my height and weight and still be over 23% body fat. I guess this is just one of those rants of "Y I NO HAVE 6 PACK YET!" None of this is going to de-rail me...

It's just sort of crappy not being closer to your physique goal when you still look like crap when you reach your imagined goal weight.

A lot of water retention and stress can keep your belly, I myself am a large apple but work towards having a small waist. There are
many people who can help you but being at such a low body fat % it doesn't seem like your too far off.
