It depends on the type of relapse. If you are constantly below the amount of calories your body needs to maintain itself then you will feel very hungry/irritable. If you have peaks and lows of feeling full you're more likely to relapse. Try researching what your BMR is and what your TDEE is. As long as you're within those two numbers then you should slowly lose weight without harming your metabolism. I find things like oatmeal and peanut butter keep me fuller longer. I get super hungry faster on fruits and veggies. Also i try not to have the really bad stuff on hand at home. Its much easier to stay with it when good stuff is available and I'm not insainly hungry. Being hungry makes us pick bad choices.0

I totally agree with you, I seem to always be hungry. Though I have been making good protein filled choices, I think my body is still adjusting, I definitely binge ate way too much over the holidays and I feel like my body got used to it, nothing seems to satisfy me.0

My motivation is I didn't want to be overweight anymore. I lost the weight and now maintain it, staying motivated because I don't want to be fat again. My weight crept up by a couple pounds in December between holiday parties, traveling, etc., the first time that has happened since I started maintaining. So, not wanting to ever be overweight again, I got serious. Sure, I at first I felt hungrier than I did the previous few weeks when I was gaining weight but I knew I was feeding myself enough and that balance would be restored once again (and it did, I am no longer pining for junk or wanting to stuff myself).
We all have bad meals or days where we go off the rails, you look back and think "Holy @$#! why did I do that?" So, not wanting to be fat, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep going forward.0
