I am looking for free/inexpensive podcasts that have motivating tunes and or training clips built in to them. You know the ones that say "start jogging" and after 60 seconds they say "start walking." Any suggestions??

Do you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch? If so there is an app that I use called "Best Round Timer." It is a simple application that you can set to have intervals of various amounts of time followed by intervals of "rest" (or walking, or some other activity). You can set it to integrate music from your playlists so that it will switch songs for each interval. I really like it and I use it to time my circuit training workouts.
I don't think it was free, but it wasn't very expensive (I can't remember exactly, but I know that I am too cheap to pay a lot for an app.)0 -
Check out the Couch-to-5k website ( www.c25k.com/ ). Robert Ullrey has a podcast on there that is used to train for a 5K. I think it takes a total of 8 weeks, but it starts out running for 60 seconds and then 90 seconds of walking. You can view the plan at http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
May not be exactly what you are looking for, but it's sometimes nice to find a race somewhere, schedule or plan for it, then work towards it.
Good luck.\0 -
The podcast I use when I run is PodRunner. It is free and has great music for running/cardio. It doesn't have intervals in it though.0

I just discovered this! Thanks! I am going to download and hopefully get it over to my MP3 player. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again!:happy:0

That Best Round Timer sounds perfect, but I currently have a Zune player, so I have to download podcasts or actual MP3's. I am going to look into that anyway though, maybe there is some way to make use of it. Thanks!0
