Hi, my name is Rainey and I have struggled with my weight for years. My highest was at 262lbs and I am now at 225lbs. I also am type 2 diabetic. I have learned to watch/count my carbs. I use to lose weight by cutting carbs way down, but found out with being diabetic, that just didn't work. A dietician told me to eat 45 carbs for my 3 main meals. I thought she was nuts and saw the weight adding on for sure. I finally gave in and did what she said, and needless to say, it is working. (I use to limit my carbs to 100 or less, usually around 80 a day).

I just stumbled onto this sight doing web searches for healthy living/recipeis etc. I am glad to be here and hope to get to know you some of you. I also am hoping my input can help others too.

I don't look at my losing weight as being on a diet anymore. I look at it as just good ole fashioned eating healthy. (back to the basics I learned in elementary school mega years ago. I try to eat out of all the food groups. I am not after super speedy weight loss, but would like to see a lb or 2 a week. (no gaining.. LOL)

Rainey - Looking at this is just eating right is a great way to deal with weight loss. You wont become fixated on it so much. Im am way past the age of wanting to be the skinniest girl around and just want to be healthy so I can live a full life. Kids are grown now and its just hubby and I. We love to travel and I want to get out there and see the world and feel good doing it.

    Together we can do it
