I want to try it, to see if it burns more calories than doing my cardio in the morning, and my weight training in the evening.

circuit training is where for each set you do 2-3 exercises which work different portions of your body. For instance, doing an arm, leg and back exercise per set.
If you do this correctly, you shouldn't be resting inbetween exercises--thus, the rapid movement coupled with your blood having to quickly move from your arms, to your legs then back again--makes this weightlifting into a cardio exercise.
From the stats I have read, most people will burn about 300-400 calories in an hour of circuit training. This may seem low in comparison to an hour on the elliptical--but you are gaining muscle and muscle raises your metabolism longer than pure cardio.
I do it and love it.0
