I'm at home from work today with a bad chest. I got a little bored and decided I wanted comfort food (without blowing my calories!) so have just conjured up this piza base recipe.

It works out at 392 calories.

This makes enough for a 1 person pizza. Mine filled most of my plate up though!

My ingredients -

100 grams of Flour
62ml of warm water
4 grams of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of olive oil
A pinch of sugar

Firstly weigh out your flour into a large dry bowl. Add in your yeast. Stir these dry ingredients together so that the yeast is spread about.

Next, in a jug, measure out your luke warm water. The reason it's warm is to help your pinch of sugar to dissolve. You can tip in the sugar now that you have measured your water.

I put a bit of sugar in purely to feed the yeast.

To the water sugar mix, drop in your teaspoon of oil.

Now, with your bowl of dry ingredients make a well in the centre. Pour into that well the wet ingredients from the jug.

Now get your hands stuck in there and press the ingredients together. Knead and fold the mixture until its all binded up and a nice smooth ball.

It might look as though the mixture is too dry to begin with but give it a chance, just keep kneading and you'll be surprised. If you do find it is a bit too dry and won't all bind, just add a teaspoon of warm water.

Now you should have a nice smooth, small ball of dough - pop that into a bowl and leave it somewhere warm to rise a little.

Whilst its rising, you can chop the veggies for your topping or wash up the equipment you've just used or make a nice tomato sauce.

I left mine for an hour and it didn't look like it had grown much to be honest, next time I might not leave it so long as I wanted a thin base in anycase.

I tipped it out of the bowl onto a very lightly floured surface, bashed a bit of air out of it and then rolled it out thinly.

I then put it onto a baking tray, popped my sauce and topping on and cooked on 200c for 20 minutes.

Lovely!
