How do you lick?

So I'm planning on doing some licking in the near future & I'm interested in different perspectives/techniques/strategies.
Personally, I'm a fan of the change up. Start out with the lingual surface broad and flat with some significant pressure, followed by stiffening & lengthening the tongue for proper access to the little nooks and crannies. I also like to vary the motion - There's the put the tongue on there and move it around methodology, and there's the bottom to top, remove & repeat, and the ever popular round 'n' round. It's also important to me that I never focus my attention on any one spot for too long. One spot may get more attention than the rest for whatever reason, but the whole of the object being licked needs to be involved in the process.
So - how 'bout y'all?
By the way, I don't want to give anybody the wrong impression. I am, of course, referring to the consumption of ice cream cones in my near future. Cheat day and all. Y'know.
Lolz.... you are awesome, just thought you should know.0 -

Lick once or twice around the base (where cone meets ice cream) to get all the melty goodness off and then spiral to the top without disturbing the peak. Gently, so as not to freeze your teeth, push the ice cream cone into your mouth as far as is comfortable and then tighten your lips around it as you pull it back out. This should create more melty goodness so...0

I lick around the bottom first to catch all the little drips, then slowly work my way up to the top. When I reach the very tippy top, I put it in my mouth and suck it off. YUMMERS! and my ice cream cones have never complained. :laugh:0

mee too.
I don't think tongues really exist like that.0 -
Twirl my tongue around the tip, making sure it does not drip.
Dr. Seuss has nothing on me!0 -
always start at the tip ....cover it with you lips and gently suck, then get your tongue to twirl around it (be sure NOT to use your teeth - bad experience once). Then using the surface and tip of your tongue rotate around until you reach the base...

That's... um... That sounds like an excellent technique to me. I should probably note that it's also possible to eat a bowl of ice cream entirely with one's tongue. It does require some slightly different techniques, but I think the end result is similar.0 -
Someone had to say it.0
