I would like to get one of the apps recommended by MFP -- I'm looking at the fit bit one. Does anybody have any suggestions? Fit bit one vs. fit bit zip -- or is one of the other apps better??? Please help.

These are not apps, they are devices. You can view your data from the app.

This is a minefield. Have a look at these devices, google them and do a search on here

Heart rate monitor- cardio exercise only
fitbit- pedometer, altimeter and sleep (One, not zip for sleep)

Body media fit- worn all day, 95% accurate
Jawbone Up and nike fuelband- worn on wrist, cool but not accurate
STRIIV (Play and Smart pedometer- got games, also the app but not accurate
Mio active- dont know much about these
New Basis and coming soon- Amiigo

    Sorry you asked now???!!!

No - I'm not sorry I asked -- this is exactly what I was hoping for! I like the Body media fit because it's 95% accurate - however, there is a monthly cost on the website to get your results. I was hoping to have something free. Do you know how accurate the fit bit one is? I want something accurate for when I'm doing anything -- riding a bike, sitting at my desk, walking, running, whatever. I'm leaning heavily towards that.

Fitbit is only any good for step type exercise. It's very easy to wear though. Lots of people use that fro everyday activity and also have a HRM for exercise. Look on eBay for cheap used one. If you're in the USA, I think the BMF subscription is on,y about $6 a month.
