Turning 40 this year in Ontario

Left Fitday.com at the end of 2012. So far looks like My Fitness Pal works way better than Fitday on the iphone/ipad. I'm a few pounds off my heaviest weight and I aim to be healthier at 40 then I was at 25. I aim to lose around 25-30 pounds in the next 4 months (planning our first trip to Vegas for our 14th anniversary)
Married with 3 kids and a dog. Work in a physical/stressful workplace on shiftwork which sometimes makes a routine very difficult. Wife and I have a lot fun together but most of it is not "healthy". I like riding bike, playing tennis and golfing without a cart (but I am horrible at it)
Returned to my job from a workplace injury just before Christmas so the combination of no weights and Christmas parties/dinners was a bad combo.
Anyway, no excuses, I've got to try harder than I did last year.
Curious what the purpose of "friends" is on this site? Are people trying to find "friends" in their area to get together for activities like tennis etc.? My "real" social life is good so I don't "need" friends but hey the more the merrier?

"friends" is also mostly about support on here, people to give you that boost you need. Im in NZ most of my friends on here are from UK/America.but they are all a great support and chatting with them online is a great passtime instaed of eating!!
