Chinese food fiasco!

So my little one had his tea out and so me and hubby decided to have a takeaway (take out) we picked a place that had tai green curry for me (to pick the chicken out if). We ordered it at 7:00 it was supposed to arrive at 8:55. At 9:30 pm I called and said the driver was having problems with his car. I asked if it would be cold so she said she would make another one and send it in the taxi.

10 min later there was a knock at the door, and our food was here, it was cold and watery. I hadn't eaten since 12:30 and I was past the point of being hungry, I probably over ate a little. The steamed veg I thought I was getting were in this horrible salt ridden gravy and cooked within an inch of its life (no vitamins left whatsoever). I ate all the chicken and mushrooms out of my curry and had about 3 tablespoons of the veg slop.

5 min later we get a call from the resturaunt saying the taxi was on its way. The food has just arrived AGAIN. A duplicate of what we just got. I must admit I had a handful of chips (fries) and I'm feeling totally discussed with myself. I have no idea how many calories I've just eaten, I had 689 cals left at the point before tea.

The moral of the story...DON'T let yourself get to hungry. The smell of the food sent my brain into frenzy (even though I thought I wasn't hungry)

I'm sure there's more morals to this tale.

P.S I'm so thirsty now! MSG for the loss

Good news! Even eating dinner twice you probably didnt eat over your TDEE. <- total calories to maintain the healthy weight you want.

Check out http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12. It explains everything pretty well. Basically if you eat between what you basic metabolism needs to function(BMR) and how much you expend being up and out of bed (TDEE) then you'll still lose weight.

Good advice to yourself about snacking though. Dont let yourself get too hungry. :)
  • I managed to not eat the whole thing again just a few fries. I love he roadmap thread. My TDEE is around 2400, and I worked super hard at work today, so it's probably more than that today. Just hope it won't effect he numbers on the scale on Tuesday.

Just think weight loss is long term :) It took a while to gain it, it'll take a while to get off. One number here or there wont matter. Its the trend that counts. Relax :) Stress keeps the weight on too btw.

You could have worked off the extra calories by vigorously flogging the first delievery driver!! Then you could have ate back your exercise calories with the second delivery!! LOL Your story is a strong argument for cooking your own food. You know what is in it, and it will be ready when you are, usually. MSG= Mean Sickening Goop LOL

Amen! It's totally put me off takeaways. It was truly disgusting slop. I can't believe there was a time in my life I would've enjoyed that. Eating better totally changes your taste buds. Give me fresh any day!
