Hello everyone, my name is Harry and I am an obese person. I have tried everything that I can think of and still I way 400.00 lbs. I thought of having the band surgery but Three people that I know have died during or right after the surgery. I am afraid of death and really do not know where to turn. I have tried putting my application in with the biggest loser and never heard anything for two years now. I can not afford any weight loss programs because money is tight. I have buried two of my children who have had heart problems. I do not have many friends and the ones that I have will not help me. I am at the end of my rope and do not know where to turn. I really want to lose weight but can not afford the programs. Even the biggest loser web site wants you to pay for their program. I even thought of just doing myself in, but that wouldn't get me anywhere and I really like living. I hope that maybe this site will help me, I literally cry myself to sleep because people are so cruel. I go out with my wife and people just stare at us like we are some kind of freak show and it really sucks. I am really praying that this site and you guys will give me the inspiration that I need to do this. I really do not feel like dieing anytime soon. Well I think I have said enough, so to all of you I bid you a found farewell and until next time my fitness pal. :drinker:

I want to say congrats. Congrats to taking the first step towards making a life change. It's a scary thing to do, but it sounds like you are ready. You didn't gain the weight over night and it's going to take some time to lose it, but it will be worth it. Just take one day at a time. This site has a lot of tools and personally I'm in love with the site. You will be successful and you have a bunch of people that are here to cheer you on. Good luck on your journey.

This is the place to be! Everyone is very supportive and open... lots of good tips too! The calorie counter is really helpful to keep you accountable, and allow you to see what you eat (I was eating WAY more than I should be before I was tracking it). Also, have you done any of the fitness DVDs? I didn't want to pay for a fitness program either, so this was a great option for me. I love Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and No More Trouble Zones. The DVD is usualy $10 or less, and it has different work outs. Good luck... "friend" a lot of people... it'll help!

Welcome - you are not alone, and this site will prove it to you...I was over 300 pounds at my heaviest, and this program does't cost me a cent...in fact, it probably puts money back into my pocket because I am so much more conscious of what and when I am eating...hang in there, and anytime you need a shoulder, reach out to us here...good luck, you are amongst friends here who know what you are going through...
