Gotta love the flu season...and gotta love working 50 (+) hrs at the front desk of an Urgent Care. Was bound to get sick, eventually. Today was my day. About 10a I texted my boss telling her that I wasn't gonna make it in for my 2p shift. What my boss said: "Can you take some medicine and see how you feel then. It's still early." She also said: "If you do not have medication at home, you can be seen at the clinic at no charge. If you go in by noon then you should be feeling better by your 2p shift". Are you for real? I'm not one who calls out constantly, I think the last time was Oct....I am the type that helps out at my clinic and others when there is a call out. Regardless, I threw on some clothes and went in to be seen. Doctor told me not to go back to work til Sat. I can't do that...even when I had fibroid surgery and it hurt to move I went stir crazy so we setteled on going back Fri. Still, I feel guilty and as though I let my boss down and that she is pissed at me. Granted I tend to feel guilty about the most moronic things. Still...how the heck to I sluff it off and just not care? Is it because I don't feel well that I am so bothered? I hate it. I wish I could rest and get well without the fear for then I just have nightmares and the worrying gets worse. And yes, I can be historionic but still. Help!

I used to get like that A LOT! and on occasion i still will feel a twinge, but i look at it this way, I work my *kitten* off, i deal with people ALL day who are constantly rude and don't care if your sick they want you to wait on their hand and foot, so you need to take care of your health! And in your case you working at an urgent health care, they should understand that, so don't even feel bad!!! you need to rest, relax, take care of you body!!!
