I am taking a pilates class at my university...
tell me if I have this correct?
at home, I have a pilates machine (haven't used it in a while, it's my mom's, actually) but the work I did on there was primarily core and leg workouts. Is this what I should expect out of the class, too?

I've taken Pilates classes but never used a machine. It is primarily core-focused, but you do get a whole body workout, & especially good for lengthening muscles. I love it & really want to take more.0

I have Pilates tapes and that's what it basically is. You do get a solid arm workout, but I believe it's secondary to the core and legs (both of which are screaming right now as I did my tape tonight :-) )0

There's mat pilates and machine pilates (called reformer I think). I do a mat pilates class. We start with 15 minutes of stretching and then do a working component. The working component includes things like core work, mobility work (joints like the shoulder and hip) and leg work (lots of butt and hamstring stuff).
I love pilates0
