Sure could use some friends, I have a difficult time losing weight. I have good intentions, but not very good willpower. I work nights and my fellow workers are all llight weights, so cakes, cookies and eating out are an everyweek occurance. With my 11hours at work, exercise is difficult. I try to walk on my lunch and breaks weather permitting. Some days are not possible living in the Northeast, too much ice on the parking lot.
On my days off I am a caregiver for my Dad. and I do the usual house cleaning, laundry, snowshovelling.
Food ideas would be welcome, I usually eat the same foods all the time and get bored. I could use some new ideas on food and a challange for exercise.

  • Hi Night shifter. I can sure remember those days (or nights). I'm retired now but the part time caretaking of my Mom is now almost a fulltime job.

The best thing a dieter can do is set reasonable goals and to "up" their physical activities. When I was working and seriously working on my weight I bought a used stair stepper/recumbent bike. Every night after work I made myself workout at least 15 minutes. I set a goal that within six weeks I would be able to "ride" 5 miles within 30 minutes. When I first started I couldn't even make it a mile in the 15 minutes. I couldn't even make it the 15 minutes.
