Not loosing enough!

I have been counting calories for about 4 months. I hate to excercise but managed to find something I love which is Zumba. I excercise 4-5 days a week. Have noticed clothes fitting better, slim legs, arms, face, and many compliments. However when I get on the scale which not often its just not registering as major weight loss. I have lost 9 pounds at the most. Like I said many compliments but I trying to be patient. However 4 months is pretty much a good determinant for major weight loss having changed my lifestyle. I am so confused. What is happening?

Your body is redistributing muscle, fat and water. Fat is decreasing, muscle and water are increasing. And don't dehydrate yourself because of it. The only person that number on the scale is important to is you. Your health is important to those around you.0

Watch your sodium intake. That could be one reason your scale hasn't moved. When you eat a lot of salt, I read, that it holds onto water in your body. I read a very informative blog (fitnessblackbook.com ) that seems to have good information.
Also, take measurements. The scale isn't a very reliable source! My scale reads differently day to day, and when I take photos or do my measurements I see big differences. I only had a weight loss of 2 pounds between photos, but the visuals was more telling then the measurement on the scale.
9 pounds is still a good number. Keep it up and don't get discouraged.0 -
Yes, firegirl is right. If you want to shake things up just change things for a few days. If you are not eating all of your exercise cals, try it. Want to join the Skinny Wed. Challenge? It might be just what you need. Check it out:

Sounds like you've lost about 1/2 lb a week which might be close (if not much faster) than the rate at which you put on the weight. Remember, it didn't come on in a month, it won't come off in a month.
I think it is great that you are noticing non-scale ways in which you are feeling/looking better. These count just as much as a number on a scale.
That said, I'm not too familiar with Zumba. Does it include any weight training (or body weight stuff like push ups)? If not, you might think about adding a bit of that to your routine. The most drastic changes I see (though sometimes not numbers on a scale) come when I am doing weight training exercises on a regular basis.0
