Weird concoctions you love?

Can't stand sweet and salty together anymore, but when I was a kid it was white bread with peanut butter and bologna.
Now, I have a favorite meal of MorningStar spicy black bean veggie burgers with melted swiss cheese on top, covered in wilted spinach with a little bit of light butter.
And my favorite "white" snack of raw cauliflower dipped in cottage cheese with garlic salt.
Chips or Doritos in a sandwich... classic, makes all sandwiches better. Makes me think that today I want to try to do it with Popchips. Those things are AMAZING!!!0 -
Bologna-cheese-mustard-potato chip sandwich. Potato chips IN the sandwich. It crunches!
I love you more every day This was my FAVORITE THING growing up. Is it an Ohio thing?
Plain shredded wheat dipped in vanilla yogurt tastes like a waffle cone!
Can't be an Ohio thing. I grew up in Idaho and it was my favorite thing as a kid too. Heck, who am I kidding. I did that at a picnic last year! haha.
This bologna concoction is apparently is a "Kid" thing, rather than regional. I recall a friend when I was about 10, living here in Washington state who made such a creation for me and pronounced it her favorite. I can't recall if I liked it then, but I would not be likely to try it now as I avoid processed meat because of the nitrates, but maybe the same idea with nitrate free ham would be interesting, and the vanilla yogurt and shredded wheat sounds good to.
The best chips to use was Nacho Doritos.0 -
My favorite as a kid and still eat it today ( well , not since joining here ) is soft cheapo white bread with peanut butter , miracle whip and dill pickle slices. . Everyone I can convince to try it has agreed, it's good.
So yummy, makes me want one right now!
And potato chips on peanut butter and jelly sandwich again has to be on soft cheapo white bread.0 -
I love that Nutella chocolate spread....especially with peanut butter ..... yummy0

Hmm my two wierdest concoctions are probably these:
~ 3 raw eggs, and 1/4 cup condensed, low-sodium, 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup..... scramble together and cook in a non-stick skillet.... makes the tastiest scrambled eggs ever, and helps me avoid the gobs of cheese I used to think I needed on my scrambled eggs. :drinker: Even better if you have some fresh mushrooms to throw in, too.
And, should I admit this???
~ Steamed brussel sprouts, dipped in fat-free mayo....... soooooo good it might even make you like brussel sprouts!!!! :bigsmile:0 -

PopSecret 100 calorie minibags and light or fat free Italian dressing. Sounds weird, but I drizzle a little over the popcorn and occasionally add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. It's DELICIOUS!
This sounds really good. I'm so gonna try it, hopefully tonight. :-)0 -
I have this regularily as a snack.
Cut up an apple, put in a bowl.
1/2 cup of cottage cheese.
15 almonds chopped up.
if you want, add a few raisins then mix it all up.0 -
Man some of the things you guys eat are icky and always seem to involve mayo  I definitely ate the smashed chip sandwiches though! Now that I think of it I could probably eat peanut butter on anything. I keep seeing a peanut butter cheeseburger on the Travel Channel...now that could be tasty!!0
-
I saw a commerical for what looked to be the grossest looking hamburger ever. It had a hamburger patty, cheese, a fried egg, and bacon. I about threw up just looking at it on the tv.
Going back to as kids and though I used to dip my chips in katsup.0 -
Recently I made a sandwich out of cucumber garlic dill tzatziki with thin slices of cucumber on it. It was delicious and refreshing!
mmmmmm sounds good!!0 -
My favorite snack is a cinnamon raisin bagel with honey nut cream cheese....SO good...0
-
PB and mayo sandwich all the way!0
-
Last night I sliced bananas into a bowl so I could drizzle melted Peanut butter and honey over it, but i was too lazy to put the PB and honey in a separate dish to melt it, So I put it on top of the bananas and put the whole thing in the microwave....
Of course it cooked the bananas and turned them into mush.. . I stirred it all together and ended up with this amazing warm PB and banana pudding!!!!0 -

You are ALL wrong. Ruffles are the best. Especially if you substitute ranch dressing for the mustard & mayo.

I just made a new dish tonight that when I first saw the recipe, I was like WHAAAA, you can't put that together! But i love each of the main ingredients... roasted cauliflower, chickpeas, and green olives: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1963972
It was really yummie - although I might be inclined to pre-steam the cauliflower next time, as I like mine softer. I had it with a couple chicken tenderloins with a little feta and pine nuts ... it was very very nice!

I thought this thread was about healthy concoctions but since it has gone in another direction I will share... as a kid, cheerios, with smooshed up american cheese in the middle. I do have to admit I did rediscover this when I was pregnant.
Oh... I vote fritos for the best sandwich chip...especially tuna!0 -
For a midnight snack, i often have a little bowl that has: handful of green olives, a few almonds and some slices of turkey pepperoni. With a tsp. of sesame oil drizzled over the top. Yum!0
