Going out to eat Healthy

Hi,

I'm from Staffordshire, England,

I was wondering if anyone knows good places - be it a certain restraunt / chain or just the options in a place - for eating healthy / low kal.

As both me and my girlfriend are dieting together so when wanting to go for something nice it seems to be all very fattening according to this.

Any help would be great :)

  • Many higher end restaurants server healthier food / options than the mid range restaurants.

Look for lean cuts of meat (beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin, chicken breast (no skin), and turkey breast) almost any non fried fish is a good choice (skip the butter). Aim for a portion about the size of your fist, if it comes out larger ask for a togo box immediately and remove the extra portion for later.
Sub veggies or side salad (with dressing on the side) for mashed potatoes or white rice
Non cream based soups are usually a safe choice.

Aim to eat healthy 90% of the time. An occasional trip to your favorite restaurant where you eat your favorite foods (in controlled portions) without much regard to the calories is fine.
  • That's awesome, thanks :)

Eat whatever you want as long as it fits your macros and calories

If you have a Zizzis near by, aside from salad being the obvious one, they also do small versions of some of their pizzas served with side salads which total around 500 calories. From memory I think there is a similar option with pasta. Their menu is available online, anyway!
