Well, the exercise has been sidelined by an injury. I was assaulted by a patient today and have three bruised ribs. If anyone knows how to work out around that, I'd appreciate the advice.

what do you usually do? And what are the symptoms of your injury?

I ask this because I was actually assaulted by my mentally ill son about 2.5 months ago. He BIT my wrist so hard that I ended up going to Urgent Care the next day to have an x ray. It swelled to the point that I was starting to have nerve involvement ( tingling from my wrist to my elbow). I just had to avoid doing any lifting with it for a week or so...

I bruised three ribs from a fall ... I couldn't even breathe without pain. I can guarantee you that exercise was the farthest thing from my mind, lol.

I usually do cardio on the the treadmill and elliptical with a rotation of weights for arms or legs (depending on day) with a few situps. I know for dang sure I'm not doing the upper body weights or situps. Biggest symptom: pain.

I also have a nice bruise that looks like a scuff mark where her shoe hit me. I love that the Dr diagnosed me in the ER by pressing on each rib and waiting to hear if I screamed... :noway: :grumble:

I figure I'm probably just going to be left with walking at a very slow pace on the treadmill... I can't lay flat on my back or rest flat on my back so most the leg weights are out... I also can't wear a bra so the slower the walk, the better. :blushing:

Coughing, sneezing, and huge yawns are the worst!!!

Well, I had to go back to work (they gave me no choice, the *kitten*) After a full day of work, I'm too sore to do anything other than sit on ice/heat. I see my personal Doctor on Tuesday and he already warned me that he'll probably send me for X-rays just to be on the safe side. He's a little shocked and irritated the ER didn't do this.

The main point of pain on the side has been acting and feeling very strange since I had to go back to work so I'm not doing anything until I see my Doctor and know for sure what's going on. I don't want to sideline myself further by doing more damage in the interest of good intentions. Of course, it's also driving me ballistic not being able to go to the gym.
