I changed my goals because i read a post that Banks(luv him luv him) did where he broke down the different daily activity levels better than this site explains them. I originally had mine set at sedentary bc i have a desk job but after reading his post i realized i was lightly active bc i do run up/down the hallways to my boss's office, i take the stairs when i go to the restroom and i drink a ton of water (need i say more). When we have nice days i will get up and go outside and walk, and i always take the stairs (only three flights but its better than nothing), etc. and this is before i workout, which i workout 5 times a week atleast 60 mins but sometimes i do more. For the past mth i have been on a break and started back this week. But once i made this adjustment my daily intake went to over 2300 cals a day and all i have to say is IM NOT EATING THAT!!! :noway:  :grumble:

So guys i need your advice, should i go back to sedentary. The routine will stay the same though.

I would stay sedentary; I also have a desk job and am lightly active throughout the day, but I wouldn't say it's enough to need all those calories. That, and with the setting I'm at now (sedentary) I think it's correct because if I stick w/the calories it tells me to eat and eat all/most of my workout calories, I'm still losing 1 lb a week with the built in deficit. So for me to change to Lightly Active, I would gain weight eating that much (since that the amount I was eating before I joined MFP!). Hope this helps!

The change gave you that many extra calories? I switched mine and it only gave me 1250 as a base.

I think it really depends on how much you're burning. If you're burning a ton and you're still hungry and think you need more even with the exercise calories, you should change it. Otherwise, it sounds like you should stay at sedentary.

Go back to sedentary and log the stairs and the hallway walking as exercise to see what that gives you.

Thank you erickirb!!! Your a life saver!!! I probably need to add more calories though bc 1200 is not cutting it anymore. Oh I feel so much better!:drinker:

Justann - Not only did i change it to sedentary but i also listed my exercise as 60 mins 5 days a week so im thinking it calculated that in there as well. Yes im defintly going back to sedentary.
