I'm going to have 600 extra calories!!! Ideas??

I put in all the food I plan to eat for the day...but I'm doing a kickboxing class tonight. On Glamour's calculator, it says I'll burn 791 calories... now, the girls at my gym say the class I take is FASTER than kickboxing so I can imagine the calorie burn is higher but I'm not always going as fast as I should so I stick with the 791... now here's my dilemma.
I have like 600 extra calories, even after including my afternoon snack and dinner (which I intentionally plan on eating high in calories without stuffing my face). Now, here's the only thing I can think of. Normally I don't like eating all my exercise calories because I exercise before dinner and am usually pushing 9 o'clock when I finally eat and I'm trying to make my dinner time sooner. So, tonight I'll be able to eat around 6:15 (hooray!) and my boyfriend has his dinner break from work at 7...he invited me to dinner with him and his boss but since I'll have already eaten, would it be a good idea to go and eat a dessert or something to take up some of my extra calories?
I keep reading that you SHOULD eat your workout calories... I don't want to slow my weight loss at all but I also don't want to stuff my face. I ate at 10 last night and had 2 enchiladas. I felt STUFFED and then was a LITTLE hungry by midnight... I'm normally not that hungry after my class, though. I just don't want to slow down my weight loss by not eating it but I don't want that super full feeling. HELP!!!

When I get in that bind I enjoy nuts. Walnuts, peanuts, pecans, almonds, ects...they're all high density, high calorie and really good for you. For an extra treat Trader Joe's has Cinnamon Almonds -- too good!
Congrats on such a great workout!0 -
I wouldn't get desert out as they are usually full of empty calories. Pick something from the menu that is healthy instead, not sure the menu of where you are going but I'm sure you can find something healthy.
You have a serious lack of veggies today, less than one serving, maybe get a salad or a side of mixed veggies.0 -
I know there are better choices - but if it was me with 600 extra calories I would so be buying Cadbury Easter Eggs. :bigsmile:0

Have to agree with this...you have NO veggies listed for today. You need at least 3 servings of veggies a day.0 -
I only eat 1,500 a day if I can and that counts by cardio cals. Frankly I work out in 3 split cardio sessions and the concept of eating them back terrifies me! I mean you can, I just hate it. if you do try veggies! I don't eat meat or fish anymore so I like to indulge in almonds and carrots. I know, sounds small but i love it. or a smoothie?0

I agree you need some veggies, a nice salad. or a vegetable soup0

i definitely try and add some veggies in there. Steam bag veggies are really good, and usually are a good source of vitamins and minerals.0

Good ideas! I'd forgotten about vegetables, ha. I'm going to have some peppers & onions for dinner but I need some greens. Thanks for the suggestions, guys!0

I spent 35 minutes on the eliptical trainer and took a 60 minute spin class last night and still managed to retain 900+ calories last night. I ate healthy throughout the day and splurged on reduced fat ice cream & reeses peanut butter cups. I doubt it was the best choice to make but it sure tasted good I will also have the same issue tonight as I will be on the eliptical for 30 minutes and participating in a Group Strength Training class. However, I will not be using my extra calories on reduced fat ice cream or reeses peanut butter cups. Keep up the good workouts.0

Peanut butter (or other nut butters) and milk are great healthy ways to pack in additional calories without stuffing yourself. Just make sure you're eating a natural peanut butter and not one with tons of additives. Try to for one made with just peanuts and salt. But especially stay away from ones that contain "hydrogenated" anything.0

a V8 to get in your veggie counts & crunchy peanut butter for calories0
