I only know that Meatloaf (the singer, not the food) has it.

    Hi :)
I was diagnosed with WPW in February 2007 after gall bladder surgery. I was 25 at the time and had just had my first child in August 2006. I had been experiencing symptoms for years, but because they were "normal" for me I thought everyone had it happen. Boy was I wrong! In January 2008 I underwent an EP study to see if I could have an ablation to fix my WPW. The ablation never happened because they couldn't recreate and episode so I was sent home with a higher dose of medication. I went on to have a second child in November 2008 and had a rather uneventful pregnancy. WPW isn't affected by it in my case. After my son was born I would have several episodes of palpitations daily, shortness of breath, light headed spells, and chest pain. My Dr and I decided to slowly decrease my medication to see if it made a difference. It helped and I am now living with WPW medication free!

As for diet and exercise. Limit things that are high in sodium as well as caffeine. These can cause your heart rate to go up and increase "episodes". Start out with light exercises and keep and keep track of how you feel, if your heart races to fast. Honestly, you can only do what your body will allow. Each case of WPW seems to be different, so you should also discuss these things with your cardiologist. Mine seems to be a more mild case as I have not ended up in the ER thankfully.

Good luck and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. I know all to well what having WPW is like and am happy to share stories with anyone :)
