I do so good but than, I give up ): I get uncontrollably hungry after nursing ): I wish I could just feel full ): And I want to have healthy snacks but my budget for my family of four is 130 a month and 1dollar cookies are so much cheaper than 8dollar nuts ): Ahhh, I wish I had someone in my same shoes to relate to ): Guess I just needed to vent.

A cookie won't fill you up as much as fruit or vegetables might, and you can get a banana for less than a dollar0

When you nurse you burn up an extra 500-300 calories per day especially in the first 6 months just from nursing. You are actually supposed to eat more nursing then during pregnancy, so don't be so hard on yourself. And you might need more whole grains and fat to compensate for all that your body is doing. Most women will lose fat and weight nursing for a year without even trying. Your body automatically starts shedding fat, especially if you nurse for a year, and not just 6 months. It's really fascinating some of the studies on this.
Anyway, you need to really make sure that you are eating enough calories right now. If you are always hungry, it doesn't sound like you are. And if you are only hungry after nursing, look at it like a good workout - some people just have to have a protein shake or food after a good workout so maybe you do too. You are burning up enough calories. See if a glass of chocolate milk will help you feel better after nursing - that's the best after workout drink, so maybe it would help in this case too.0 -
Same here... breastfeeding a 6 month old, no time to exercise at all, eating as a railroad worker... and still 5 kgs to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, 10kgs to my perfect shape... I totally feel you...0

There are tons of recipes online for healthy snacks, they don't have to be expensive. I made several for my daughter after her baby was born and she needed "grab and go" snacks. Her favorite was/is energy bites.
1cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup peanut butter (or other nut butter), 1/3 cup honey, 1 cup coconut flakes, 1/2 cup ground flaxseed, 1 scoop Chocolate protein powder, 1 tsp vanilla
just mix together and form into balls, refrigerate
Lots on pinterest too!0 -
I remember those ravenous nursing days! I usually had a quick peanut butter sandwich to help up my calories and fill my tummy.0

I totally understand. I couldn't lose much weight while breastfeeding. However, cookies aren't filling you up anyway. Try to find some less expensive real food snacks. Hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cheese, peanut butter with a banana or apple, these are all much more satisfying.0

I have five kids and nursed them all for various different lengths of time. I found that it can totally throw things off as far as eating and exercise goes. When my kids were going through a growth spurt i was hungry and had less energy etc. Plus, if you are night nursing then the lack of sleep is against you already
I lost a tonne of weight with my fourth child. he nursed till 14 months, but did not eat solids (he had issues with his stomach). The other four, I could not for the the life of me lose the weight. BUT, now that i am done with that stage of life (my youngest is 19 months) I would not have changed a thing.0
