Healthy Life Meets Night Life

So I'm curious...

I love to live a healthy lifestyle, but I also love to go out on the weekends. I'm always mindful though of alcohol's empty calories, so I try to pick things that aren't saturated with mixers and sugar. When it comes to drinking, how do YOU make healthy decisions with alcohol? Light beer, wine, diet soda and liquor? What's your healthy poison?

    Guinness, or any real ale.

    They contain carbs, which I need in my diet.

    I'm always over my calorie count on a Friday, but look at it as only slowing my weight loss down by 1/7th. I'm still under or at my maintenance calories so it's not going to add weight. I'll never have visible abs but I'm passed caring about that!

    my food/drink intake consists of: meats/plans/nuts/whiskey on the rocks

    bartenders always tilt their heads when they see a 5'3 girl order jack on the rocks like a boss. makes me laugh.

    I just do extra cardio on days that I'm drinking so I can burn more, so I can consume more.

    Rum and diet coke
    Vodka or Gin with diet tonic (generally have to make at home, they don't have diet tonic at most bars)

    Occasionally: Wyder's hard pear cider (140 calories) Strongbow dry cider (160 calories) or Coors light

    I get judged on this all the time but I love it, for real. I get a vodka with ice water and two lime wedges...I drink it slowly so I stay controlled, there's no extra sugar & calories & I never feel bloated afterwards like I do with beer. It's my go to : )
  • Vodtka waters with a splash of roses lime only has 60 calories If they don't have roses lime you can just use limes. Also a glass of Red wine is good for your heart so that's always an option.

    I always try to go to a Saturday morning spin class to burn 500ish extra calories.. then I stick with vodka/seltzer with lime. I must admit I am terrible about tracking my nights out, though.

    I mix high percent booze with 0 calorie flavored water. I also really like toasted caramel black velvet and diet dark pop. Or I just do straight shots. When my mission is to get drunk, I don't screw around.

    I don't drink much anymore but when I do I have vodka and seltzer/club soda with lime or wine depending on the kind of night it is. Usually I just offer to be DD and drink water.
