Package and MFP info don't match

I ate 102 grams that it said on the packet to eat. It was a pork and crackling joint. I didn't eat any of the fat or cracking. The calories vary the paced says 235 cals and MFP says 395 for 110g. How do I know which was right? I wanted to have some soup later or a snack if I was hungry. Which information should I go by?

DO you have the package? If so, use that information.
The database in MFP can be wrong as there are entries from users all over the world. Things are made differently in different countries (I am in Canada, same item in say the UK sometimes have different NI). Also, users have made mistakes in entering the information in the database. Some only enter cals .. some miss a number, etc. ALways use the package information. I also NEVER use the generic entries or the homemade entries for things users have added through the recipe. You will make something different than Jane across the country makes it.
If you don't have the package I would go with the middle one... or the higher one to be safe. If it's something you made yourself always use the recipe feature with the items and amounts you used instead of using an entry from the database.
Also, make sure you weight the food you eat. Even prepackaged foods. For example, I have a protein bar that i regularly eat. Package says the whole bar is 70g... it's actually 78g.0 -
Thank you. Was having a mini freak out cause I've already eaten it..0

Always always always use your own package as your nutrional information to add. Sometimes you will either have to add the item yourself or search for a bit for the proper entry. You can see the NI before actually adding an item to your diary.
That's the thing I dislike about this site is how inaccurate the database can be. It's a great database but lacks some accuracy.. which comes from people incorrectly adding items to the database as well as the fact that there are so many people from so many different parts of the world on this site.0 -
Yes be careful, MPF told me a jar of stir fry sauce was a LOT lower than it actually was, and this was scanning the package!0
